Polish Ocean Lines

EuroAfrica Shipping Lines evolved from the Szczecin branch of the Polish Ocean Lines.

1991

Political transformation

EuroAfrica was established on September 1, 1991 on the basis of the Szczecin branch of the PLO, established in 1970.

 

It was a logical step in the right direction during the period

of political and economic transformations that were then taking place in Central and Eastern Europe.

New shipowner

EuroAfrica, as a new shipowner, specialized in shipping on the routes to Northern and Western Europe.

 

The new shipping company was also operating a regular connections from Polish, Baltic and Western European ports to West African ports.

1958

West Africa Line

The West Africa Line was launched in 1958 by Polish Steamship Company (PŻM), and in 1970 it was separated from PŻM and joined to Polish Ocean Lines (PLO).

In 1983, the West Africa Line was transferred to the PLO branch in Szczecin and eventually became part of the EuroAfrica.

 

In 2023, the African Line celebrates its 65th anniversary.

2002

Restructuring

In 2002, Andrzej Hass became the main shareholder of EuroAfrica Shipping Lines. The new owner used his knowledge

and managerial skills, as well as his 30 years of experience

in private business, to carry out multi-layer transformations

and restructurings.

2010

Part of Hass Holding

Finally, in 2010, after the cross-border merger, EuroAfrica became part of the Hass Holding Limited Capital Group, 100% owned by the Hass family.

 

Today, the company is continually reinforcing its brand and continuing its growth through a multi-year fleet renewal program supported by Hass Family.

 

Between 2002 and 2022 several ships were purchased - multi-purpose general cargo ships and ferries.

 

The latest investment in tonnage is m/f Epsilon, which has joined the Poland – Sweden ferry line.

For over 30 years EuroAfrica’s main scope of activity has been transporting seaborne cargo and passengers.

 

Currently we provide regular shipping services to Sweden

and West African countries from the Baltic Sea.

EuroAfrica employs 8 vessels which can serve a variety of cargoes: general cargo (including heavy and oversized loads), lorries and trailers.
